Jeff is from Stafford, Virginia where he grew up with his father, mother and his older brother. His father, who also holds a career in building construction was the foundation for Jeff’s life long experience in the industry. Jeff was taught, not only the skills to fix most anything but the “can do” attitude to achieve this. Self driven, motivated and knowledgeable, Jeff grew up helping his dad with church projects and in leadership positions on trips with organizations such as IMPACT, where he continues to lead groups of high schoolers in repairing homes of those in underserved areas.
He attended Virginia Tech where he graduated with a degree in building construction and landscape contracting. After graduation, he worked for several nationally known builders in northern Virginia, however, with a family in mind he moved back to his wife’s hometown of Charlottesville to be closer to family. He lives with his wife and three daughters within a community that has enabled him to grow in his career by working with local builders and now form his life long dream - his own company.
Jeff’s passion is for building homes from start to finish. His goal has been to own his own business so he would have the ability to do this. Thompson Construction is this dream becoming a reality. Jeff hopes to achieve a thriving company atmosphere for his team while helping his clients achieve their own dreams, whether it be through remodel, renovation, or starting from the ground up!
Steve has over 40 years of construction and development experience. He started in the construction field as a teenager and obtained a contractor’s license at age 18. Steve furthered his construction education by obtaining a BS degree in Building Construction from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1982. Steve’s vast experience, mostly in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Region, involves administering over 6 Billion square feet of construction and development consisting of residential, retail, office, hotel, correctional, research, and manufacturing projects. Presently, Steve is Senior Vice President of Construction with a Washington, DC developer, and in the past, served several other prominent Developers and Mechanical Contractors in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. Steve’s role as President of Thompson Construction involves Company oversight and leadership. Steve spends time during each year leading Virginia Baptist youth in ministering and providing home improvement to impoverished families across the Commonwealth. Steve’s “downtime” involves yard work, hunting, fishing, golfing and following Virginia Tech sporting events. He and his wife reside in Stafford, Virginia and enjoy spending time with their two sons, daughters-in-laws and five grandchildren.
Drew is a born and raised Texan, who recently transplanted to Charlottesville. He attended Texas A&M University and bleed maroon. He has worked in a number of different fields including fully custom pools, commercial, and fully custom homes. He loves the critical thinking and problem solving that comes with being a project manager. Most importantly, he loves seeing customers happy with a home that they can share memories with their families for years to come. He chose to join the Thompson Construction team because of their strong values, attention to detail, and family centered atmosphere. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife and son, watching college football, fishing, and trying new craft beers.
Lizzy is a Charlottesville native, returning after having graduated from the College of William & Mary in 2018. With her prior experience working as an Account Manager at WorldStrides, she is now excited to step into the role of Customer Relations Manager at Thompson Construction, meeting and communicating with clients to help ensure that the process of building and design remains stress-free and fun! In her spare time, she enjoys running, reading, cooking, and traveling. Additionally, as a big believer in supporting local, she loves spending time with her friends and family in the Charlottesville area by visiting local restaurants, farmers markets, wineries, and art galleries.
